Why Visit Dinant?

As soon as you cross the Charles-de-Gaulle bridge, the "wow" effect is guaranteed: the Collegiate Church of Our Lady and its bulbous spire stand at the foot of a towering rock topped by the Citadel, while the Meuse reflects this postcard-perfect scene. It's easy to see why Belgians nickname Dinant the Daughter of the Meuse.

A spectacular urban panorama

The silhouette of the Collegiate Church + rock + Citadel is one of the most beautiful natural compositions in Belgium. The golden morning light creates unforgettable scenes.

Adolphe Sax & his Saxophones

This is where the inventor of the saxophone was born in 1814. Giant, brightly colored saxophones adorn the bridge, fountains, and facades — a visual identity unique in the world.

A concentration of history

From the medieval citadel to the 1914 massacre (674 civilians), Dinant carries a dense and moving history, a testament to centuries of resilience.

Nature within reach

Caves, rivers, cliffs, nature reserves: the region is a playground for families, hikers, and kayaking enthusiasts.

Local gastronomy

Honey couques, Leffe beer born here in 1152, Ardennes game, and farm cheeses: the Dinant table has something to delight every palate.

A strategic location

30 km from Namur, 1 hour from Brussels, and 3 hours from Paris. The perfect base for exploring Han-sur-Lesse, Bouillon, Rochefort, and the Ardennes valleys.
