At Kayak-ardenne, the minimum age varies for safety reasons depending on the route. For short routes (7-10 km), children can participate but must always be accompanied by an adult, often in a family kayak. For longer routes (11-17 km), we generally recommend a minimum age of 12 unaccompanied. Our staff will advise you on the most suitable route for your family.
While it's not a strict requirement, knowing how to swim is strongly recommended. Wearing a life jacket is advised and provided free of charge by Kayak-ardenne. The Semois is a calm river, but being comfortable in the water adds a lot of comfort and extra safety to your experience.
Bring clothes suitable for the weather that can get wet (swimwear, quick-drying clothes). Closed shoes (sandals or Crocs type) are ideal.
